We are set apart by the fact that we have made our careers out of coaching and training all types of athletes and teams, including Professional, Collegiate, and Olympic Qualifying. We know how to not only how to effectively train the individual one-on-one, but we pride ourselves on our experience training large teams, which is second to none. This is what makes taking a class at CrossFit Moxie even more enjoyable because we know how to give you personalized attention in a group setting.

Our team also has more experience than anyone else in Northern California organizing and running professional fitness competitions through our Moxie Madness series, creating more opportunities for you to get involved in our community and push yourself to the next level.

Jennifer Ismar

Jennifer is the General Manager here at Moxie.  She was first introduced to CrossFit in 2009 by one of her Krav Maga instructors in Chicago and she was immediately hooked.  That same year she had the opportunity to compete on the Windy City CrossFit Team at the 2009 CrossFit Games in Aromas, California.  The experience further cultivated her passion for the sport and she quickly turned her private personal training job into a full time Crossfit Coach position at WCCF.

To escape the cold winters and seek new adventures, Jennifer moved to the Bay Area and found CrossFit Moxie in 2012. She is extremely passionate about continuing education and actively seeks out programs to enhance her skill set.  She draws on this wide knowledge base along with her personal athletic experience to coach and motivate others to make lasting lifestyle changes that optimize health and quality of life.

Assistant Coaches


Sean Ranney

Sean is currently a student at SJSU studying kinesiology with an emphasis in being a fitness and movement specialist. He holds a NASM personal training certification, as well as the CF-L1. Sean has been active in and around fitness sense he was 13 years old and has been doing CrossFit for a little over two years. In addition, Sean played a year of collegiate football for a D3 team in Oregon. Sean’s passion is for the Moxie community and helping the members in anyway possible with their fitness and health goals.


Katie Lindsey

Katie has always had a love for sports and coaching others. She graduated from the University of the Pacific with a BA in Sports Medicine and was on the rowing team for 3+ years. When she walked in the doors of CrossFit Moxie in December 2009, she fell in love and quickly became one of Moxie’s most dedicated and skilled athletes. Katie loves learning new things and always having something to improve on in CrossFit, which has helped make her an incredibly well rounded athlete. Katie was hand selected to develop the Moxie Fitness Program. This program is a functional, real life fitness and training without the heavy weights, gymnastics, or complicated movements. You can find Katie coaching this class three days a week.

Katie has qualified as an individual for the CrossFit Games Northern California Regionals each year since 2012. Each year, Katie has also been dedicated to and competed on Moxie’s Northern California Regionals team since 2011. Katie also is a full time coach for De Anza Cupertino Aquatics since 2011.

Natalie Talbert

Natalie has a passion for fitness and people. She has been participating in CrossFit since 2013 and loves the community and competitive environment it fosters. After playing 4 years of Division 1 water polo at San Jose State University, the transition to CrossFit was only natural. Natalie graduated with a BS in psychology and loves to work with people to uncover their fullest potential as they reach their health and fitness goals. After coaching swimming and water polo for years, Natalie has began to pursue her passion for CrossFit at the coaching level. Her devotion to fitness and drive to learn has lead her to pursue a certification in both CrossFit and Weightlifting. It is with great joy that she has the opportunity to add to her knowledge base to invest in the members of her Moxie family!
